Helping Hands Project-Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

We are excited this year's Orange Peel philanthropy project is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited fatal disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide).

The Foundation is the leading organization in the United States devoted to cystic fibrosis. It funds and accredits more than 115 CF care centers, 95 adult care programs and 50 affiliate programs, and has 80 chapters and branch offices nationwide.

Orange Peel will be working with the Sooner Chapter in Bethany, Oklahoma.

Previous year's Orange Peel philanthropy projects include St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (2006 & 2007), Muscular Dystrophy Association (2005), Make A Wish Foundation (2004) and Special Olympics (2003).

2008 Chow Down
The annual Chow Down will take place on Wednesday, October 1. Stillwater businesses pledge a portion of their proceeds for the evening to CFF. We are currently organizing the event and a list of participating restaurants will be available soon.
